Services

Serving Middle Tennessee Since 1971

New Horizons supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities — including Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy, and more. We welcome all people regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, or gender.

Our services reach more than 100 individuals across 10 Middle Tennessee counties: Cheatham, Davidson, Jackson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Stewart, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson.

Day Services

Our Community-Based Day Services keep individuals active and engaged through daily outings and activities. From local parks and libraries to volunteer opportunities and skill-building programs, we focus on independence, inclusion, and community connection.

Examples of activities include:

  • Visiting parks, natural areas, and libraries

  • Attending movies and community events

  • Volunteering with local organizations

  • Participating in job readiness training

Job Readiness & Employment

We prepare adults with disabilities for competitive employment through hands-on training and one-on-one support. Our certified specialists and job coaches work closely with individuals and local employers to create meaningful opportunities.

Our approach includes:

  • Resume building and interview practice

  • Job readiness and vocational training

  • Small-group “enclave” employment with supervision

  • Job placement and on-site coaching until independence is achieved

Our individuals are currently employed at community partners such as Berry Global, United Records, Southern Lawn Care, Allen Printing, and Kroger.

Living Services

We help provide safe, supportive living environments that foster independence at home and in the community.

Two living models are available:

  • Supported Living – Individuals live in regular housing with 24/7 trained staff who assist with daily needs like meals, transportation, cleaning, and personal care.

  • Family-Model Living – Individuals live with families who provide support in a home environment, including transportation, reminders, and assistance with daily tasks.

Both options ensure individuals receive compassionate, personalized support tailored to their needs.
